Dr. Charlie Faircloth, Medical Director
Dr. Faircloth is a veterinarian passionate about the routine and emergency care of companion animal pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs). He is a 2015 graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated with honors. He worked in San Antonio, Texas, at a 24-hour emergency hospital until he and his wife (who is also a veterinarian) had their 2 children, Millie and Macen. After Millie was born, the Faircloth family decided to move closer to his hometown in Northern Kentucky, and Dr. Faircloth has been practicing in Amelia, OH, since then. He is well known as a kind-hearted, friendly guy who will go above and beyond to give his patients the proper care they deserve. In addition to his 2 children, the Faircloth’s are proud of their 5 furry canine friends – Jackson, Jada, Calvin, Jake, and Carib. He enjoys jogging and playing sports and has been known to play drums and sing in a band from time to time!

Dr. Dan Meakin, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Dan grew up in Mt. Lookout and began his lifetime commitment to animals at a very young age. He started his collection of exotic pets at the age of 9 with reptiles (boas, iguanas, and various local species), ferrets, rabbits, and normal dogs and cats. He was a junior zoologist at the Cincinnati Zoo during his early teens, and while most teenagers were getting into trouble, he was attending rounds at the zoo and hanging with an elite group of future zoologists and educators.
Dr. Dan graduated from St. Xavier high school, where he gave mini-courses on reptiles and frequently entertained his classmates with various exotic animals he would bring to the biology classroom. His yearbook picture has him holding a 3-foot alligator. During high school, he worked at a reptile dealer called Reptile World, where he held cobras and handled various venomous pit vipers. During his junior and senior years, he worked at Montgomery Animal Hospital as a vet assistant.
Dr. Dan went to college at the University of Notre Dame and studied biology. He smuggled an 8-foot boa into his dorm room and had an aquarium with aquatic turtles. After college, he attended veterinary school at The Ohio State University, where he graduated with Dr. Linda in 1989. Dr. Dan completed a 1-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at West la veterinary medical group before returning to Cincinnati in 1990. After 2 years of working with Dr. Dill at Cherry Grove Animal Hospital, Dr. Dan opened Cincinnati Veterinary Surgical and Wellness Center in Amelia in 1992 with his wife, Dr. Linda. 29 years and 5 children later, Dr. Dan has settled into his new role as medical director of Cincinnati Veterinary Surgical and Wellness Center. Besides exotic pet care, his interests include orthopedics, ophthalmology, and oncology.

Rebekah, Registered Veterinary Technician
When Rebekah was young, she always knew that she wanted to work with animals. She would frequently take home strays, then find them permanent homes. Rebekah has worked in the profession for about 11 years. She started working as a kennel attendant, then as an assistant. She has now been an RVT for going on 3 years and graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2018. She is very passionate about helping those who cannot speak for themselves. She loves the fact that every day is different and challenging. She currently has several kitties, a dog, and a horse that keeps her busy at home. During her time off, Rebekah enjoys reading, doing crafts, spending time with her daughters and family, riding her horse, and other outdoor activities. She plans to graduate in 2022 from St. Petersburg College with her bachelor’s in veterinary nursing/management, and then she plans on working towards getting specialized in dentistry, anesthesia, and surgery.

Ariel, Customer Service Representative
Ariel got interested in veterinary medication not only because of her love for animals but because simply being around them makes her happy. Ariel loves helping improve the lives of animals and educating the public about these amazing creatures that are all around us. She has worked in the vet field for 3 years and worked in the pet industry for over 11 years. The compassion and love she has for animals and their owners is what has kept her in this field. She has a total of 11 animals- 3 dogs (Buster, Champ, and Scarlet), 1 cat (Ripley Wayne), 2 Bearded Dragons (Corbin and Big Juicy), 2 leopard geckos (Ellie and Festus), 1 Green Cheek Conure (Kiwi), 1 Sulcata Tortoise (Felicia), and a Pac man frog named Pete.
When Ariel is not at work, she enjoys time with her family and hiking with her boyfriend.
Eventually, in the near future, I would like to continue my education and go to school to be a registered vet tech.

Linda, Customer Service Representative
Hi, my name is Linda; I have been interested in the veterinary field since I was a child. Since the chance of going to vet school was not in my cards, I went to the University of Cincinnati. I graduated in 1995 with my associate’s degree in applied science to become a technician. My passion for animals keeps me in this profession; however, after 20-plus years as a technician and my health issues, I became a customer service Representative at Cincinnati Veterinary Surgical and Wellness Center in 2014 at the Anderson location.
I have six cats: Princess Lola Fuzzbucket, Momma’s Little Suckler, Baby Dale, Xena, Donner Doo, and Letty Lou. I also have three dogs: Bit Bit, Molly, and Logan.
Even with all the craziness going on and with our household full of animals, I like to try to find ways of relaxing by taking my son and fiance fishing. I like fishing too, but I don’t touch the worms or the fish. However, it’s fun casting the line out and watching the sunset on the water. One interesting fact that some people may not know about me is that I am a third-degree black belt. I no longer train, but I still have the passion and inner strength that helps me daily.

Trisha, Customer Service Representative
Trisha has been a part of the veterinary profession since 2013, when she started here at Cincinnati Veterinary Surgical and Wellness Center. Her passion and love for animals is what sparked her interest in veterinary medicine. She has 3 dogs of her own, a Pit Bull and 2 Pomeranians that keep her busy. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She also enjoys tending to her garden, where she watches the hummingbirds.
