CINCINNATI VETERINARY SURGICAL AND WELLNESS CENTER

Pet Surgery

Our surgical suite isn’t much different from what you would see in a human hospital, and we practice many of the same protocols you would expect if you were to have a surgical procedure. We understand that even the simplest of pet surgeries can be stressful for families, which is why we take every precaution to make each procedure as low-risk as possible.

The staff at Cincinnati Veterinary Surgical and Wellness Center are abundantly trained in all areas of surgery, including the administration of anesthesia, sedation, and critical care. For all pet surgeries, we first perform a pre-anesthetic exam and blood work to check each patient’s health. This helps us confirm that your pet is healthy and faces minimal risk while under anesthesia.

During your pet’s surgery, our team will monitor their vital signs with the help of advanced monitoring equipment. We are also able to use lighter anesthesia with the assistance of nerve blocks; this enables our patients to go home feeling much more alert and comfortable after their procedure.

Pain management is one of our biggest concerns when performing surgeries. Every pet receives the appropriate pain relief before, during, and after their surgery, so they can awaken comfortably and continue to recover smoothly at home. Nerve blocks give our patients several hours’ worth of relief after surgery as well. What’s more, we’ll provide you with oral medications to give your pet in the following days as they gradually return to a normal lifestyle.

Our veterinarians in Cincinnati, OH, can perform a wide variety of soft-tissue surgeries, along with some orthopedics.
